ABSTRACT SEX
The exhibition “Abstract Sex: We don’t have any clothes, only equipment” proposed unexpected alliances between bodies, bacteria, objects, and machinery. Organized as an off-site project of Artissima, it was hosted by Jana, an iconic hybrid art gallery, showroom, and fashion boutique. We developed a custom lettering expressing a desire to reshape pleasure and its objects, referencing one of the central artworks in the exhibition: “Asstral traveler,” a fossilized feces anal plug by Thomas Hämén. Through analog lenses, we veiled and softened these new letterforms, and by spatializing their positions, we composed the visual, which was printed on a limited edition T-shirt by Kristina Ti.
